Five useful websites/applications to channel productivity

1. Gmail.com – If you have not given Google’s email solution a try, it is worth a look: web-based email, labels, easy integration on most smartphone and a ton of useful plugins to make the mail service even more useful.

2. Hootsuite.com – The ultimate organizer for all things social media including Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn and much more. Schedule posts, it is free and relative easy to set up and use.

3. Google Voice – While it is also an application on some platforms, Google’s Voice service allows web-based management of your vocal and text communications, emails transcripts of calls and allows advance forwarding and filtering of calls.

4. Wikipedia.com – This might be a surprising inclusion on the list. However, this is a super place to start research and gather basic information on a variety of topics. I do not consider Wikipedia a source of primary information but it certainly is an efficient pathway to finding the source.

5. Dropbox – Up to 10gb of storage of file storage and sync files across many platforms including your Windows PC, your Mac, your iPhone, your Android-powered smartphone or from the Web. Put the file in your Dropbox, forget it and open up the application on any supported platform and it is there. Trust me on this, try it.

To make this list, an application or service had to be web-based. Keeping that in mind, what are some of your favorite websites/applications?
