Its not creepy, its Rapportive! (for Gmail)

I see all of your publicly available social media information from Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter when you email me.  It is displayed right there along with your email.  How does this happen?  Am I a super computer hacker?  Did I pay hundreds of dollars for stealth software to dig into the deepest recesses of people public lives?  No and No.  I installed Rapportive.

Rapportive is a free Gmail add-on that shows you everything about your contacts right inside your inbox. You can immediately see what people look like, where they’re based, and what they do. You can establish rapport by mentioning shared interests. You can grow your network by connecting on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and more. And you can record thoughts for later by leaving notes.  Here is example of what comes up for me in Rapportive:

Rapportive is free and a great tool for connecting with people whom communicate.  Also, next time I throw out random detail of your life, remember it came through social media via Rapportive.

Have you tried Rapportive?  What do you think of it?
