Who enjoys an office move? No one I know. While a move might lead to long-term benefits, the process of moving can be a productivity-drain. I am staring the productivity-drain in the face this week:
I am moving the physical location of my law practice from Oklahoma City about 10 miles away to Edmond (for those not familiar with the area, an adjoining city). I am moving into a picturesque office park (Christman Parke) closer to my home and around solid and interesting people. It will be a good thing once the physical part of the move is complete. However, in the meantime, I believe my planning, preparation and the nature of my practice allows for a smooth transition.
The only substantial change is the mailing address: to 1233 E. 33rd Street, Edmond, OK 73013. Current address: 100 E. California, Suite 200, Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Due to the way I have structured my communications over the past year, my email, telephone number and facsimile number all stay the same. For the substantial number of people I communicate with over telephone, email and other electronic media, there will be no change. I am spreading the word of my new physical address through this blog, email and traditional (although very reliable) old mail.
All of the items I can carry were moved during non-traditional business hours, leaving only some of the larger items for the movers this week. I hope to settle into the new office and continue to serve my clients, with almost no producitivty-drain.
If you have any interesting moving stories, I would love to hear them???

Congratulations! That’s a beautiful location! And great to work closer to home!
Thank you Keith, I really like the location and the shorter drive!
Congrats on the move! You’re a much closer neighbor of ours at T&S now.
Thank you Tim, it is a nice location and about 10 minutes closer to our home.
CONGRATULATIONS on the move. At least now you can sneak home for lunch or have Amy and the boys visit you more.
Later,
Thank you Dave. This move has a lot of positives, I just don’t like carrying boxes much!
