John Steinbeck said “Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.” Ideas that are executed on are the opposite: rare.
I had an idea that sprang from a need: I want to know when something new happens in one of my court cases, when it happens. In Oklahoma, there is website published by the Oklahoma Supreme Court (OSCN) that makes available the docket sheet for cases in 13 large Oklahoma counties. The docket sheet shows all court filings, hearings and events in a court case. My usual practice was to check each online docket sheet mutliple times a day, with 30 plus cases the time added up. And it was still hit and miss. I thought “wouldn’t it be great if there was a service that would notify me automatically each time a new event happened in a case?”
That is where my friend RB Bruce entered the picture. RB is a software magician: he takes ideas and turns them into reality as working software. On this one, I told him of my idea we decided to make it a reality.
